Nijemci: Hotels and Accommodation

A marked themed route connects the centre of Nijemci with Sopotac. It is approximately 3.5 kilometres long and features around 30 information panels and six smart benches dedicated to the flora and fauna of Srijem. Nature and Trails

The Sopotac excursion site offers birdwatching, fishing, a themed children's playground, a waterside landing stage for boats and parking. From Nijemci, it can be reached by boat, car, bus, bicycle, horse-drawn carriage, on horseback or on foot.

The arboretum in the centre of Nijemci is a garden on the Bosut featuring native ornamental and medicinal plants, paths, seating, a pavilion, a fountain and a pergola. It is suitable for resting and birdwatching.

Culture and History

The central parish church of St Catherine of Alexandria in Nijemci is a Baroque church dating from the 14th century. It was built on the bank of the Bosut at the prehistoric archaeological site of Gradina; traces of Roman architecture and graves associated with the Bijelo-Brdo culture were found beneath it.

The local Luka Natali Museum in the Pastoral Centre of the Parish of Nijemci presents the history of the settlement. It includes an ethnographic room in the traditional style and a collection of more than 700 cultural, historical and ethnographic objects.
