Brsečine: Hotels and Accommodation

Coast and Nature

Brsečine Beach is a natural shore beach and can be reached via an asphalt road. The port of Brsečine has a 20-metre-long section for passengers to board and disembark directly.

Culture and History

The historic architecture includes a country estate dating from the 16th century, associated with Cvijeta Zuzorić, as well as the fortified Ohmučević-Bizzaro country estate from the 17th century, with a chapel and a park.

The local sacred heritage includes the Church of Saint George, the ruins of the small Church of Saint Stephen, and the churches of the Holy Redeemer and Saint Anne. Saint Anne is designated as the patron saint of the village. Brsečine is also associated with a Late Antique archaeological site and U Kuka Pećina, a cave site that forms part of the cultural heritage.

About 500 metres east of Brsečine lies Kukova Peć Cave, above the old Napoleon Road towards Majkovi. There is evidence of intermittent use over a period of approximately 6,000 years; the oldest finds date from the Late Neolithic.

Local Character

Grapevines and olives have traditionally been cultivated in Brsečine. Sheep and goats have also traditionally been kept there.
