Orasac: Hotels and Accommodation

Orašac is located on the shore of the Koločep Channel. Below the village, there is a pebble beach and a small boat landing on the shore. Those wishing to book a hotel in Orasac can then continue searching for accommodation.

Coast and Leisure

Access to NUKU Beach is open to all visitors; sun loungers and parasols are reserved for resort guests or available for hire. In summer, guests can take jet ski and jet ski safari trips from the resort pier towards Koločep and the Adriatic coast. The Sun Gardens Dubrovnik Sports Centre in Orašac also has three clay tennis courts.

Culture and History

The parish church of the Visitation of Mary in Orašac was built in 1529. The church contains paintings of Our Lady of Sorrows and John the Baptist, which are registered as protected cultural heritage of Croatia.

Orašac has a Dominican monastery dating from the late 17th century. The former Dominican monastery contains the Rozalija Chapel, dating from 1690. On 2 July, Orašac celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Orašac.

The Arapavo-Soderini summer residence above the coast of Orašac is protected cultural heritage and is used for tourism and hospitality purposes. The Soderini summer residence in Orašac is protected. Orašac also has a tower belonging to a summer residence associated with an Austrian resident of Dubrovnik and dating from the 17th to the 18th century.

Landscape

In the Orašac–Vrtovi sunca tourism zone, the undeveloped western part of the planning area is described as being of landscape value. This area includes the streambed of the Kočišta torrent and its associated vegetation. The cultural landscape in the Orašac–Vrtovi sunca area includes vineyards, citrus trees and olive trees.

Getting Around

A village walk through Orašac passes Mediterranean gardens, dry-stone walls and traditional houses before reaching the 255 m-high St. Nicholas viewpoint. From there, the view extends to the Elaphiti Islands and, in clear weather, as far as Mljet. The route continues to the Church of Our Lady of Orašac, built in 1529, and the nearby Lake Brana.

The Panorama Ride cycling tour follows the Resort–Orašac–Ljubač–Gromača–Kliševo–Resort route and starts at the Sun Gardens Dubrovnik Sports Centre. It takes cyclists above the resort to Orašac and continues through olive groves, green valleys and agricultural land.
