Zrenj: Hotels and Accommodation

The bell tower of the parish church of St. George in the center of Zrenj offers views over large parts of central Istria. When planning a trip, there may also be a desire to book a hotel in Zrenj. The church is a two-aisled Romanesque church with a sanctuary and sacristy; it was extended in 1582. Zrenj is sometimes associated with the birthplace of Saint Jerome; however, this identification is described as unreliable.

Sveti Stjepan is located in the vicinity of Zrenj, while Svi Sveti is in the surrounding area. In the wider regional vicinity of Zrenj are the Museo di Muggia e del Territorio and the Castello di Muggia.

Nature

Zrenj stands on a karst plateau above the Mirna Valley and the Bračana stream. The rural architecture is characterized by the uniform use of stone slabs on the roofs; locally, these are called škrila. The area around Zrenj is described as rich in flora and fauna and suitable for hunting. There are small drinking-water springs there called Mali Zahej, Veliki Zahej, and Bič.

Oprtalj is about ten kilometers by road northeast of Zrenj. Ravnica is located in the vicinity of Zrenj. Brajkov Vrh, Kobiljak, and Semi are in the surrounding area of Zrenj.
