Cycling Routes and History
The 24-kilometre Vižinada (101) cycling route is connected to several other cycling routes.
The section of the Parenzana reached after crossing Lašići on the Vižinada (101) cycling route is part of a former narrow-gauge railway that was converted into cycling and hiking trails. The 30-kilometre cycling route Trail of Good Flavours and Experiences (102) follows the former Parenzana railway towards Lašići and connects wine, olive oil and agrotourism areas with cultural and historical sites.
Along the Way
The Parenzana is signposted and has safety railings on bridges and viaducts. It also features illuminated tunnels and visitor displays explaining its history. There are five designated viewpoints along the Vižinada (101) route.
Along the Parenzana connection reached from Lašići, the route offers specialist bicycle repair shops and bicycle rentals; some of these providers also offer bicycle transport.
Wine and Regional Specialties
Pilato produces its own olive oil. At Pilato, the tradition of winegrowing and winemaking stretches back more than four generations. Pilato manages around 20 hectares of vineyards. The distribution of varieties is 70:30 in favour of white varieties; Pilato also sells around ten different wine labels.
In the context of the municipality, Slatka Istra preserves the tradition of producing nine types of authentic baked goods from the region.
Sosich Wines offers tastings by prior arrangement, featuring wine, rakija and cured-meat specialties. Among its wines, the winery highlights Malvasia and Teran. Sosich Wines has also opened a modern tasting room with space for up to 50 people.
