The area has a distinctly mountainous character. The highest point of the Gradina archaeological site is 629 metres above sea level. There are at least 13 marked and maintained hiking trails in the surrounding area, with varying lengths and levels of difficulty.

The trails lead to a range of destinations and vary in duration and difficulty. The moderately difficult Klana–Pliš trail takes two hours and follows a forest path to the scenic summit of Pliš, at an elevation of 933 metres. If you are interested in traces of history, you can choose the easy, one-hour Studena–Roman Wall trail, which follows a marked path to the remains of the Roman wall of the Liburnian Limes. The wall dates from the 3rd and 4th centuries and lies at an elevation of 596 metres.

Another moderately difficult option is the Trstenik–Obruč trail. It takes two hours and 15 minutes, and its destination is the summit of Obruč, at an elevation of 1,377 metres. The Trstenik Valley lies at an elevation of 960 metres and is home to a natural water spring. These trails differ in both duration and destination, ranging from the remains of the Roman wall to a peak near Pliš and Obruč.

The Klana–Kastav hiking trail starts in the centre of Klana and leads via Škalnica to Breza, where it joins the Kastav Srna hiking trail. The stated times for the sections are 1 hour and 30 minutes from Klana to Škalnica, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Škalnica to Breza, and 2 hours from Breza to Kastav. Near the last houses in Klana, the trail opens up to a picturesque view of the Kvarner Bay. Throughout the area, trails wind through dense forests and peaceful meadows to scenic peaks and historic sites.

Gradina is located on a rocky hill directly above the centre of Klana. Since 2017, the archaeological site has served as an open-air summer stage for various cultural programmes. The site thus combines archaeological history with use as an event venue. Sections of the Liburnian Limes are located in the hinterland of Studena and Ravno; segments can be found on Vranjeno Hill and in the Za presikom hollow.

Religious sites are also part of the area's history. The Church of St Michael the Archangel stands on a hill above Klana, dates from the 17th century, and has long been a gathering place for worshippers, especially on Michaelmas, September 29. The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, built in 1904, is located on the road between Studena and Klana. On February 11, locals gather there to pray and recite the rosary.
