The interactive museum Kuća halubajskega zvončara explores the local tradition of the Halubajski zvončari and Viškovo’s Pust customs. The Church of Sv. Matej stands in the centre of Viškovo and was built in 1862 on the site of an older chapel. The routes include “Tragom Halubajskih zvončara”, an easy circular cycling route along sections of the three-day procession route. The route passes original locations with educational exhibits.

The Halubajski zvončari are also at the heart of the Halubajski carnival. It takes place every year on the first Saturday after Saint Anthony’s Day on 17 January. The carnival features masks, music, dance and groups of bell ringers. The date and the activities described offer a specific cultural point of reference for planning your trip.

In Ronjgi, Viškovo, you’ll find the Spomen-dom Ivan Matetić Ronjgov, an institution with a museum and memorial character. “Tragom Halubajskih zvončara” offers another way to explore the local tradition by bike: this easy circular cycling route follows sections of the three-day procession route and passes its original locations, which feature educational exhibits. The two routes have different highlights—woodlands, hills and kalići on one, and the traces of the Halubajski zvončari on the other.

Lončeva Griža is located at an elevation of 506 metres in Lučići. From the viewpoint, you can see the Kvarner Bay, the Grobnik Field, Gorski Kotar, the Velebit Mountains and neighbouring Slovenia. The open-air exhibition is below the viewpoint, so the views and artworks offer two distinct reasons to visit.

Another natural feature is the Kapitovac kalić. It lies in the deepest dolac in the Viškovo area and has never dried up. Together with the hidden kalići along the “Od kalića do kalića” route, it shows how water sources and the landscape feature among the area’s local attractions.
