Veprinac: Hotels and Accommodation

Veprinac is a medieval settlement on the slopes of the Učka mountain range and is listed in the Croatian Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage as a historic urban ensemble. Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Veprinac can then continue searching for accommodation.

Culture

At the entrance to the settlement are town gates with three openings. The town gates, part of the town wall and the town loggia are listed as cultural heritage. The Parish Church of St. Mark has a distinctive bell tower. The old municipal building, called komunšćica, houses an ethnographic collection showing how the people of Opatija once lived.

In Veprinac, the Opatijska planinarska obilaznica includes checkpoint KT2 at St. Mark's Church. Markova Veprinac was held on 27 April 2025 as a celebration of the patron saint of Veprinac, Saint Mark the Evangelist.

Nature

The 4 km Opatija–Veprinac Forest Trail connects the centre of Veprinac with Slatina in Opatija. The trail has 45 signposts and 10 educational panels translated into five foreign languages. Veprinac can be reached by car or via a scenic hiking trail.

A viewpoint in front of St. Mark's Church is described as a place offering views over Kvarner Bay.
