The old village of Brist is home to the remains of a medieval stećak, the stone houses of the former settlement, and the ruins of the Baroque Church of St. Margaret. It dates from 1751, incorporates the apse of an earlier church, and has a preserved Gothic-vaulted apse. It contains grave slabs of the Kačić family as well as graves of the Kačić family dating from the 18th century; since 1966, it has been under state protection as a cultural monument. According to local tradition, one of the surrounding houses is considered to be the birthplace of Andrija Kačić Miošić.

Brist is also associated with the mosaic “Life to Life: Sun, Earth, Sea, Our Life”. It is an artistic legacy of the painter Mladen Veža and was created in the 1960s and 1970s from ceramic fragments found on Brist beach.

Brist lies along the 13-kilometre-long Lungomare promenade by the sea, which connects Drvenik, Zaostrog, Podaca, Brist, and Gradac. The route passes beaches, parks, olive groves, and cultural attractions.
