Gizdavac: Hotels and Accommodations

Gizdavac is included in the annual mačkare carnival procession of the Muć area. The procession is part of a protected tradition of intangible cultural heritage and features a tall, debarked poplar standard as well as wedding figures called dida and baba.

Culture and History

Gizdavac's prehistoric references include a prehistoric mound and Gradina Bakića Umac, a prehistoric site in Gizdavac. Gradina Bakića Umac is also listed in the cultural heritage register with status E. Crkva Sv. Luke in Gizdavac is likewise listed in the cultural heritage register with status E.

The Chapel of St. Luke was made from a single piece of Brač stone. The hundred-year-old statue of Saint Luke at the chapel in Gizdavac was restored by the academic painter Zvonimir Mihanović. The Chapel of St. Luke is located within the cemetery enclosure, while the Church of St. Luke filial church is located at the local cemetery of Gizdavac.

Trails and Activities

The Children's Trail League 2025 held its first round in Gizdavac, in the Gospodarska zona Prisike. A 7.5-kilometre trail race was also held at the Prisike recreation centre near Gizdavac. A cycling route to Bunari Rajčica passes through Gizdavac.

State Road D-56 runs through Gizdavac and Gornji Muć.

Landscape

The Rajčica site lies nearby, between Nisko and Gornji Matasi. It includes a watering place for livestock and ten circular wells surrounded by pastureland and dense vegetation.
