In Gornji Muć, the archaeological site with the pre-Romanesque Church of Sv. Petar dates to the 9th century and is associated with the beginnings of national medieval archaeology. Mala Pećina cave near Sutina comprises three chambers containing archaeological pottery fragments. Its Impresso pottery indicates use between 6100 and 5500 BC.
