Location

Žedno is located on the highest part of Čiovo and has no access to the sea.

Routes

The “Mystique of the island” road route is 33.6 km long, has 565 m of elevation gain, runs entirely on asphalt, and is designated for road bikes. Along its Čiovo section, it passes through Žedno twice. The climb from Okrug Gornji to Žedno extends over 3 km with an average gradient of 4.5%. This is followed by a descent with hairpin bends and gradients of up to 18%.

The “Treasure of Čiovo” route is 13.4 km long, has 292 m of elevation gain, and is designated for trekking, MTB, or gravel bikes. As an official family/trekking route, it leads from Trogir through Žedno to Okrug Gornji and Milićevo before returning to Trogir. After Žedno, it runs along fine macadam, with sea views and another rest area for cyclists.

The 5 km-long “Sv. Mavar” route leads from the center of Žedno via a viewpoint to the Church of St. Mavra and back; it is intended for advanced cyclists and runners. The short St. Mavra Church Trail is approximately 600 m long and is intended for easy walks or cycling tours, including family outings.

The official “Trogir from above” MTB route runs from Čiovo through Balan, Žedno, Arbanija, and Mastrinka. It begins at the parking lot next to the old Čiovo Bridge, is 13.9 km long, and has 346 m of elevation gain. The Church of Blessed John of Trogir is listed as a point of interest on this route through Žedno.

Culture

Žedno is included in the 20.5 km-long “Doživite Čiovo” MTB route. It has 526 m of elevation gain, frequent changes in surface, and technically challenging sections; the Church of St. Maurus is listed as a point of interest near Žedno.

Local Character

Žedno is associated with a fishing tradition. At the Ribarska fešta event, seafood and fish preparation were showcased.
