Marinje Zemlje: Hotels and Accommodation

Marinje Zemlje is a wooded area with olive groves and orchards. An old oil mill, which was used until the end of the 20th century, is also part of the character of the place. Marinje Zemlje is a cluster of eight hamlets hidden in the hills. It can be reached by turning south from the old road to Komiža shortly after Plisko Polje.

Nature

The coast around Ruda Bay is known as the Marinjonska Riviera. An asphalt road leads from the Marine zemlje area to Vela Bay and Mala Travna Bay.

Surroundings

The island of Vis and the islet of Ravnik are located near Marinje Zemlje. Velington, the islet of Paržan Mali, and the islet of Budikovac Veli are in the surrounding area. The Spanish Fortress is located in the wider region.

Trails

The Vis–Vino Polje–Plisko Polje–Stiniva hiking route follows the path to the Marina Zemlja trail marker. The Stiniva route then continues for about 1.5 kilometres on asphalt to an improvised parking area in Žužec. From this parking area, the Stiniva route descends steeply to Stiniva Bay.

Access to Stiniva Bay from land is via a footpath and not by vehicle. Access from the sea is narrow between two high, steep rocks.

On the Vis–Vino Polje–Plisko Polje–Ruda hiking route, the Marine Zemlje trail marker is located at a turn-off from the asphalt road, approximately 80 metres after the road begins.
