Žloukovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Žloukovice lies on the right bank of the Berounka, about four kilometres northwest of Nižbor. The village therefore combines a clearly recognisable riverside location with a traditional rural character.

Culture and History

Folk architecture of the Central Bohemian type has been preserved; some of it is protected by the state as a historic monument. Traditional log houses shape the historic architectural character of Žloukovice. The history of the village dates back at least to 1357, when Žloukovice was first mentioned in the founding charter of the Karlštejn Chapter.

One of the notable historic complexes is the Žloukovice farmstead. Its log buildings, grouped around the main courtyard, were constructed at the end of the 18th century as an agricultural estate. Another landmark of the village is the late Baroque bell tower of Žloukovice.

Location and Landscape

The Vyhlídka Čerchov viewpoint is located in the vicinity of Žloukovice. From a rocky outcrop, it offers a broad view upstream in the direction of Žloukovice.

Trails and Viewpoints

The Stations of the Cross in Žloukovice begins at the Žloukovická forester’s lodge. A red-marked hiking trail also runs from the same place. The Stations of the Cross was ceremonially opened to the public on 22 August 2020.

Transport and Local History

The Rakovník–Beroun railway line crosses the Berounka near Žloukovice. Many local people worked on its construction in 1876. Žloukovice railway station is integrated into the public transport system.

The family-run Admirál boat rental company is based in Žloukovice.
