Stratov: Hotels and Accommodation

The first written mention of Stratov dates back to 1357; nearby, Mydlovar was first mentioned in the archives in 1223.

Culture and History

Půta z Častolovic founded the village of Stratov in the mid-14th century. The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity, „Nejsvětější Trojice Boží“, commemorates the plague of 1772, which claimed the lives of seven people in Stratov. The „Nejsvětější Trojice“ is an octagonal central building with four segmental-arch windows and a simple entrance. Its tent roof is topped by a small bell tower with an onion dome.

Nature in the Nearby Area

The Mydlovarský luh Nature Reserve is located nearby. It protects alluvial forests, former Elbe channels, wetlands, and the naturally meandering Farský potok. The area lies between Ostrá and Kostomlaty nad Labem and is one of the last remaining alluvial forest complexes in the Polabí region.

Transport and Trails

Stratov is connected by rail and bus services. A cycling educational trail runs along the Elbe. The excursion to the Mydlovarský luh educational trail begins in Ostrá; alternatively, Stratov railway station is named as an access point.

Leisure and Events

In Stratov, the „Zóna klidu a pohybu“ recreational area with a children’s playground is located in the Za Radostí II. area. The „Stratovské zahradní slavnosti“ take place regularly: the fourth edition was held in 2025, and the fifth edition was announced for 12 September 2026.
