Sloveč: Hotels and Accommodation

At the center of Sloveč’s historic village green stands St. Martin’s Church, a Neo-Romanesque church dating from 1886. In front of the church stands a statue of the Virgin Mary with the Christ Child; it was created by Kofránek of Vojice in 1875.

Culture and History

Next to the school in Sloveč stands a memorial to those who fell in the First World War. It was unveiled in 1921 and bears a commemorative plaque dedicated to local legionnaires. The former school is also home to a statue of the Crucified Christ, a work by F. Stýbla dating from 1857.

Sloveč is home to a stone cross, a piece of stonework by Karel Kofránek dating from 1857. A land reform memorial from the First Republic era stands on the road to Městec Králové.

Religious Traditions

A pilgrimage is held in Sloveč on Corpus Christi. A Marian pilgrimage is held on September 12, and the St. Martin’s church fair takes place on November 11.

Landscape and Transport

A stream rising in the forest flows through Sloveč and feeds the local ponds. Neither a hiking trail nor a cycling route passes through the village. Sloveč is regularly served by bus connections to Městec Králové and Nový Bydžov.
