Bolehošť: Hotels and Accommodation

Bolehošť and Bolehošťská Lhota are first mentioned in a surviving written record from 1394. A later symbol of the village’s history is the stone Zvonička bell tower: it was built in 2004 to mark the 610th anniversary of the first mention of the municipality. It houses a historic bell cast in 1644 in Hradec Králové by Martin Exner. The Zvonička also maintains the revived tradition of ringing the bell every Sunday at noon.

During a walk through Bolehošť, visitors can see a memorial to the victims of the World War and a Christian cross. The former evangelical school is also located in the village. In Bolehošťská Lhota, the chateau was built around the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Bolehošť is surrounded by extensive forests on three sides. The Chropotínský háj Nature Reserve is located nearby and protects a remnant of a floodplain forest with species-rich vegetation.

An avenue of lime trees begins at the Lovecký zámeček and extends southeast to Klabák Forest.

Several cycle paths run through Bolehošť. They connect the village with Třebechovice pod Orebem, Týniště nad Orlicí and Opočno. A tourist pavilion with a map is available in the small park in the centre.

Bus services run from Bolehošť towards Týniště nad Orlicí and Opočno. Train services operate on the Týniště nad Orlicí–Náchod route.

The cultivation of Bolehošťské zelí and its processing into sauerkraut have been a centuries-old tradition in Bolehošť. Sauerkraut is sold year-round at the Zelárna in Bolehošť.
