The area around Chromeč is home to Hrad Brníčko Castle, Obora Hill, Skalka Hill and Bouda Hill. The wider regional area includes the Nový Hrad ruins and Cukrová Bouda Hill.
Culture and Local History
The memorial cross for the victims of the First World War in Chromeč was made in 1923 by the V. Spurný stonemasonry company from Litovel. The municipality had it restored in 2024. The work included, among other things, cleaning, the completion and securing of the damaged crucifix, renewal of the inscription and a final protective coating.
Chromeč is also associated with Josef Drásal, the man known as the Haná Giant. He was born in Chromeč on 4 July 1841. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is documented as early as 1771; the year it was built is unknown. A new Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk was built in Chromeč in 1862 and burned down in the Great Fire of Chromeč on 19 September 1869. The cross at the “U Blaťáka” crossroads was restored in 2023.
Cycling Route and Event
A marked cycling route runs through Chromeč. The traditional “Boroviny” event is held by the “U Obra Drásala” inn in Chromeč.
