Culture

The eastern part of Dvůr Doubravice in Olšany is listed among the cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. In 2024, the southeast wing of Dvůr Doubravice, consisting of the former manor house, stables, and coach house, was also declared a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.

Olšany’s industrial history includes a factory for the production of cigarette paper, established in 1862 on the site of a former mill.

A document from the National Heritage Institute mentions the Doubravice farmstead in Olšany, as well as houses Nos. 174 and 46, in connection with an immovable cultural monument.

Nature and Trails

The Moravská stezka cycle route runs through Olšany. A hiking trail from Olšany leads up to the chapel on the Olšanské hory.

The Březná Nature Park partly extends across the cadastral area of Olšany nad Moravou.

Religious Sites

The Chapel of Saint Martin on the Olšanské hory was built in the 1930s and consecrated in 1936.

In Olšany, the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius is recorded near the youth home. The chapel stands above a water spring; access to the spring is via a descending stone staircase with a stone surround.

An inscription on the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius records an orally transmitted tradition that Cyril and Methodius preached and baptized at this site around the year 865.
