Janovičky: Village Green, Loučná and Chapel

Janovičky lies in flat terrain. Smaller cottages and larger farmsteads extend along a triangular village green with a chapel; the Loučná River forms most of the settlement’s boundary. The village green and the river course thus form two distinct features of the settlement’s structure.

Culture

In the middle of Janovičky’s village green stands a bell tower. A small fire station was also built in the middle of the village green. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary has an almost square floor plan. A cross and a relief of the Madonna are located in the niche on the front of the Chapel of the Virgin Mary; it is topped by a small tower with windows.

The Janovičky Fire Brigade was founded in 1924. The community events it organizes include Čarodějnice. It also prepared for the district’s annual fire brigade sports competitions and qualified for the regional round several times. Depending on the children’s interest, the Janovičky Fire Brigade offers a youth fire brigade group.

Loučná and Routes

Janovičky is connected by roads to Radhošť and Vraclav. Cycling Route 4186 runs from Dobříkov via Zámrsk and Janovičky to Malejov. A hiking route from Zámrsk to Radhošť follows the Loučná through Janovičky. For the Loučná, a 25-kilometre section between Janovičky and Sezemice is recorded in a paddling log with a difficulty rating of ZW to WW I.

The three route connections clearly differ in form: the cycling route describes a connection between several places, the hiking route follows the Loučná between Zámrsk and Radhošť, and the paddling log describes a river section with its own difficulty rating. Considering these details side by side makes it possible to distinguish the mode of travel, route layout and documented level of difficulty without presenting the routes as a single unified experience.

Because of possible flooding of the Loučná, the plots of land in this part of Janovičky were considered disadvantageous. For planning purposes, the three types of route mentioned can be compared by mode of travel and by the route and difficulty details specified for each.

Community and Local Cuisine

Bramborákové hody were announced at the Janovičky fire station for 7 October 2017; four varieties of potato specialties were to be offered there. Zabijačkové hody are among the community events organized by the Janovičky Fire Brigade; on 23 November 2019, the fire brigade invited people to the event at the Janovičky fire station. At a Řízkobraní held at the Janovičky fire station, various types of schnitzel, traditional drinks and competitions for children were offered.

When choosing a hotel for Janovičky, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be considered separately. Travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions are independent of the village green, Loučná and chapel. This keeps the date, room type and conditions clearly distinct from one another.
