Nové Hrady U Skutče: Hotels and accommodations

The castle grounds are open to the public and offer guided tours of the interiors and castle gardens. The castle tour includes the “Umění nábytku v proměnách století” exhibition, which presents Central European furniture design from the Baroque period to Art Nouveau. The open-air amphitheater on the castle grounds hosts concerts and performances under the open sky.

Nové Hrady is also home to the Baroque Church of St. James, built in 1724. The village also has a Stations of the Cross dating from 1767.

The “Motory & Pedály” museum displays more than 160 motorized bicycles, mopeds, and bicycles with auxiliary motors from around the world. It is housed in a historic Baroque barn and extends across three floors. Because access is exclusively via wooden stairs, the exhibition is not wheelchair accessible.

The “Galerie anglických klobouků” gallery displays more than 100 women's hats in a variety of shapes, materials, and colors; visitors can try on some of the hats there. The castle grounds include a maze made of clipped arborvitae. The hat exhibition is located in the orangery opposite the maze, where visitors can also see an aviary with parrots.

The castle garden can be visited independently of a visit to the castle. The castle gardens are stylishly designed and include numerous water features such as ponds, cascades, fountains, and water-lily ponds.

The arboretum on the castle grounds, established in 2019, contains 200 species and cultivars of woody plants. In the Nové Hrady arboretum, visitors can walk among young trees along mown paths and relax in a wooden pavilion.

The farm belonging to the castle keeps red deer and fallow deer, which visitors can view.

The castle hill has a children's playground with benches, a pavilion, a wooden children's castle, a viewing platform, and perennial beds. The stables in Nové Hrady offer riding lessons for beginners and advanced riders.
