Sruby: Hotels and Accommodation

A memorial to those who fell in the First World War stands in the village square of Sruby. The monumental structure has a rectangular ground plan made of dressed granite blocks. Three granite blocks bearing the carved names of the fallen are designed as open books.

A granite grave for the victims of a death transport on 24 January 1945 is located in the local cemetery. It commemorates seven prisoners from Auschwitz concentration camp whose names are unknown.

The Church of the Ascension of the Lord (“Kostel Nanebevstoupení Páně”) in Sruby was built in 1877–1878 in the historicist style on the site of an older Gothic church. It is a branch church of the Roman Catholic parish of Choceň, and services are held there once a month.

The local LBC 69 biocentre “Srubské mokřiny” covers 6.17 ha in the cadastral area of Sruby. “Srubské mokřiny” is a 6.17 ha wetland in the cadastral area of Sruby, with a habitat of the protected snail Lymnea lagostis that is unique in the East Bohemian region. The vegetation composition is secondary and close to natural.

The “Končinský a Podedvorní rybník” biotope centre covers 18.21 ha in the cadastral area of Sruby and lies south of the settlement of Hluboká. It consists of two ponds with species-rich banks and a pronounced littoral zone, and is an important breeding area for waterfowl.

The “Rutník” biotope centre covers 17.66 ha in the cadastral area of Sruby and is located at Rutník Pond, with adjacent high-quality waterlogged meadows.

Sruby railway station is served by line 010 between Kolín and Česká Třebová. There is no ticket office at Sruby railway station; tickets are sold on the train.

Cycle route 4230 from Vysoké Mýto to Sudslava runs via Šnakov, Slatina, Sruby, Choceň, Běstovice, Skořenice, Hradiště and Koldín.
