History

The Jan Augusta Monument in Džbánov commemorates the capture of Bishop Jan Augusta in the forests above Džbánov on April 25, 1548. At the monument, tourists can use an information board, a map, and covered seating.

Near Voděrady, the former so-called “černá stezka” ran along an older forest clearing. It was used mainly by smugglers.

Nature

When the weather is sufficiently wet, the small surrounding forests of Voděrady are ideal for mushroom picking. The eastern side of Džbánov is bordered by spruce and mixed forests with a rich variety of flora and fauna.

From Džbánov, there are views to the west of the East Elbe Plain, the Iron Mountains, and the Žďárské vrchy.

Landscape features

The named landscape feature Řetová, a mountain, is located in the surrounding area. Nearby are the named landscape features (Džbánovská velká strana) [Voděrady u Českých Heřmanic] and Na Dubině [Tisová u Vysokého Mýta], both recorded as hills. In the wider region, the named landscape feature Jarošov, a mountain, is located.
