Hostíčkov: Hotels and accommodations

Hostíčkov is an old Czech municipality that was established sometime in the 11th or 12th century as a typical circular village settlement.

History and culture

In 1273, Hostíčkov is mentioned as property of Teplá Monastery. In 1576, the village was transferred from monastic ownership into the secular hands of the Šliks of Planá. Until the abolition of serfdom in 1848, Hostíčkov was an agriculturally oriented village under the rule of Planá.

Ecclesiastically, Hostíčkov initially belonged to the parish of Ovesné Kladruby and later permanently to the parish of Boněnov. The memorial to the victims of the First World War was dismantled, cleaned, and reassembled.

The wayside cross is made of coarse-grained sandstone of local origin. In its upper section, it has an elongated, arrow-shaped depression on both the front and back.

Landscape and surroundings

Within the administrative area of Chodová Planá, the lowest point lies in the valley of the Kosí potok below Hostíčkov at 490 meters above sea level. The mountains Podhorni vrch, Viči hora, Sténský vrch, and Spálený are located in the vicinity of Hostíčkov.

Novy Dvur Monastery is also located in the vicinity of Hostíčkov. In the wider regional area, there is the “Center of Europe” monument.
