Polánka: Nature, Trails and Local History

Polánka is situated on a hill in Kakov Forest. The village is divided into an upper and a lower section; the two sections are 300 metres apart.

The Polánecký mokřad Nature Reserve is located in the Polánka area and contains marshy and wet meadows with several specially protected and rare plant species. The protected features of the V Houlištích Natural Monument include a flower-rich beech forest and an alder forest where wild garlic grows. A large part of Polánka's cadastral area belongs to the Plánický hřeben-Kákov Nature Park. A small stream flows below Polánka and subsequently becomes part of the Myslivský potok, which forms the source of the Úslava River.

Cycle Route 2162 leads from Myslív through Polánka along a Class III road and continues to Lovčice. The Stehlíkova naučná stezka educational trail is 12 kilometres long and suitable for hikers and cyclists. It begins and ends in the centre of Myslív and passes through Polánka towards Pohoří.
