Skašov has a tradition of toy manufacturing dating back approximately 200 years. Toy manufacturing experienced its greatest boom around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries; in the mid-20th century, 52 families in Skašov manufactured toys.
Culture and Townscape
At the Skašovských hraček exhibition in Skašov, visitors can see former and present-day products. The Chapel of Skašov is also part of the cultural character of the village: it is a cultural monument built in 1882 and dedicated to the Virgin Mary of the Snow. The historic village center lies in the southern part of the village and is arranged around a small rectangular village square with a chapel in the middle. Skašov is a valuable example of a village in the southern Plzeň region and possesses an unusual ensemble of traditional granaries.
The first swimming pool in Skašov opened in 1937. In the wider regional surroundings of Skašov, there is also the church Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral.

The mountains Buzrakov (Plánický hřeben) and Běleč are located around Skašov. In the immediate vicinity are the Stará pec hill [Měčín], the (Obec) hill [Měčín-Radkovice], and the Skašovský les forest. Holý vrch reaches an elevation of 568 m.
