Záběhlice: educational trail, Hamerský rybník and historic sites

The educational trail is just under five kilometres long and has seven stations. The stations divide the route into individual stopping points; their number is therefore not an additional kilometre figure. Its historical focus is the development of the district. For planning purposes, the route can be treated as a separate section, whose length remains distinct from the later connection to the Hostivařská přehrada reservoir. Anyone planning only this educational trail does not need to include the subsequent connection in the same distance figure.

The route marked in red ends on Záběhlická Street near the V Korytech bus stop. From there, you can continue along Hamerský rybník, via Trojmezí and past Toulcův dvůr to the Hostivařská přehrada reservoir. This walk to the reservoir is 5.5 kilometres long and begins at the end of the route. For day planning, this creates a fixed sequence: Záběhlická Street, V Korytech, Hamerský rybník, Trojmezí, Toulcův dvůr and finally the Hostivařská přehrada reservoir. The kilometre figure refers to this additional section.

At Hamerský rybník, you can visit the remains of a medieval fortress dating from the time of Wenceslaus IV. The complex of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary includes an adjoining cemetery. The fortress remains and the church with its cemetery offer distinct historical points of interest. Culture enthusiasts can therefore find specific connections to both the Middle Ages and the ecclesiastical setting, without requiring an additional route.

Hamerský rybník was created in 1770, when copper hammer mills were established there. It is fed by an inlet branching off from the Botič. This inlet separates from the stream at the Záběhlický weir and then flows to the pond. The HAMR-Záběhlice sports complex is also located at Hamerský rybník. When planning a visit to the waterway, its historical origins, the inlet and the sports location can therefore be considered together in a separate section.

Anyone combining the routes in Záběhlice should treat the historic route and the walk to the Hostivařská přehrada reservoir as two separate sections. The educational trail does not end with the 5.5-kilometre figure; it has its own length of just under five kilometres and its seven stations. The further waypoints lie along the route from Záběhlická Street: first Hamerský rybník, then Trojmezí and Toulcův dvůr, and finally the Hostivařská přehrada reservoir.

The historic sites can be included in your day plan regardless of the distance you choose. The walk via Hamerský rybník remains a separate section alongside the educational trail and its historic stations.
