Božetice combines evidence of rural life, historic buildings and routes through the surrounding area.

Culture

The Božetice Museum is a museum of milling, baking and agriculture. The first mention of a mill in Božetice dates back to the first half of the 16th century; references to baking date back to the 19th century.

One of the notable structures is the railway bridge, a massive stone construction with ten arches, built in 1889. The bridge, located in the cadastral areas of Sepekov and Božetice, is a cultural monument and lies south of Kvěchov Mill.

West of Božetice, a niche chapel stands in the fields. It was probably built around 1760 by the Zurka family. During the last restoration, carried out in 2010, an original fresco was discovered. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity also contains a painting of the Holy Trinity, probably painted in 1845 by Mr Skala from Písek.

The Hrad Zvíkov castle is located in the wider regional area. The historic site “Lety u Písku. Memorial to the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in Bohemia” is also located there. The Church of Svatý Jan lies in the vicinity of Božetice; it is also located in the wider regional area of the village.

Nature

The Smutná stream flows through Božetice. In the northeastern built-up part of the village stands the “Božetická lípa” commemorative tree. Božetice also has a local outdoor swimming pool.

The hills of Ulčí vrch, Smrčí, Zvíkovec and Jenšovice are located in the vicinity of Božetice.

Routes

Cycle Route No. 1153 from Chyšky to Staré Sedlo passes through Božetice. A yellow-marked hiking trail also runs through the village, following a route from Malšice via Stádlec, Sepekov, Vlksice, Nadějkov, Sedlec-Prčice and Heřmaničky.
