Culture and History

The ensemble of 19th-century granaries in Dynín is characterised by mostly simple façades, triangular gables and sawtooth ornamentation. The farmsteads are arranged around a large, almost rectangular village square. In addition, a number of masonry vernacular buildings dating from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries have been preserved in Dynín.

One of the specific architectural monuments is Farmstead No. 25. It is a registered immovable cultural monument comprising a residential section, granary, gate and wicket gate, stables and a barn. The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas is one of the most important sights in the municipality of Dynín.

The history of the surrounding municipality also reaches further back: The former village of Německá Lhota was flooded during the construction of the Záblatský Pond between 1580 and 1582, together with its farm buildings. Construction of the school in Dynín began in April 1923; classes began there as early as October of the same year.
