Holasovice: Hotels and Accommodations
Holašovice has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. The UNESCO complex comprises 23 listed farmsteads with a total of 120 buildings and is centered around a large rectangular village green.
Culture and History
The preserved buildings of Holašovice were shaped by renovations carried out in the 19th century. They display the distinctive forms of the so-called South Bohemian folk Baroque, with finely decorated stucco façades. A written reference to the historic blacksmith's workshop in Holašovice dating from 1713 has been preserved. In 2018, the blacksmith's workshop was renovated to restore its original appearance and original purpose.
On the northern side of the village green stands the Chapel of Holašovice, dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. An authentic foundation inscription has been preserved on a stone tablet set into the rear wall near the floor, to the left of the altar mensa. The brothers Bartoloměj and Josef Pimiskorn had the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk built at their own expense.
