Culture and History

The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Sedlec was built in the Neo-Gothic style and consecrated in 1868. The cemetery in Sedlec is located on the grounds of a former fortress, of which only stone terraces remain. It is surrounded by a massive moat.

Local Sights

Plástovice was designated a village monument reserve in 1995 and is considered one of the most valuable and best-known ensembles of folk architecture in Bohemia. The village preserves richly decorated folk architecture dating from the 1850s and 1860s. The large farmsteads in Plástovice are arranged around a T-shaped village square that is partially open to the south.

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity has stood in the center of Plástovice since 1840.

Malé Chrášťany is a village monument reserve with preserved farmsteads. The building of the extensive Čalounů Mill stands outside the village on the Soudný stream in the direction of Zbudov.

Cycling Routes

Plástovice is located at the intersection of two important cycling routes: one route from Zbudov via Vlhlavy continuing south and another route from Netolice to Zliv. Cycle Route 1083 runs through Malé Chrášťany between Plástovice and Břehov.

Transport Connections

A scheduled bus service from České Budějovice to Sedlec runs as far as Malé Chrášťany.
