Nerestce: Hotels and Accommodation

Nerestce can first be explored through the Nerestský lom natural monument. It encompasses parts of the cadastral areas of Horosedly and Dolní Nerestce and consists of two larger and several smaller abandoned limestone quarries. The protected feature is an abandoned limestone quarry with rock vegetation and dry grassland vegetation. The natural monument forms part of the site of European importance “Nerestský lom”, with the code CZ0310084.

Nerestský lom is home to species-rich communities of animals and plants, including the Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo), the great crested newt (Triturus cristatus), the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina), and several plant species. Nerestský lom is located approximately 1 km northeast of Dolní Nerestce; by car, access without restrictions is possible to within 250 m of the site.

Culture

The bridge with the statues is decorated with Baroque statues of saints from the workshop of J. Hammer dating from the mid-18th century. In Dolní Nerestce, House No. 9, together with its associated structures and land, is an immovable cultural monument. “Strašení” in Nerestce was intended to be held for the 25th time.

Cuisine

Buchtobraní is a recurring baking event in Nerestce featuring competitions in several categories. At Buchtobraní, Easter specialties such as mazanec and Easter stuffing, as well as an open category, were the theme. A get-together of the participants was planned to conclude Buchtobraní.
