Nová Ves U Chýnova: Hotels and Accommodations

The Church of St. Anne was built in 1875 by Josef and Anna Strnadovi. It was renovated around 1930 and again in the 1990s. Every year, a Mass is celebrated there on the feast day of Saint Anne – this tradition continues to this day.

In the Nová Ves u Chýnova district, a road bridge crosses the Kozský potok. The massive, single-arch structure is made of stone and was partially built from bricks. The bridge blends sensitively into the natural relief.

Among the smaller sacred monuments is a wayside shrine of unknown age, which was adapted in more recent times. The stone cross in front of František Prokop’s farm in Nová Ves u Chýnova was made by the stonemason Studenovský.

Nová Ves u Chýnova and Turovec lie on an approximately 8 km² deposit of Permian sandstone. In the surroundings of Nová Ves u Chýnova, most older buildings and sacred monuments are made of the local Permian sandstone.

The broad, grassy village green formerly served as pasture for domestic poultry. From the 18th century onward, it was gradually built up with small houses. Malá Ves was laid out on a horseshoe-shaped plan.

A hiking route from Chýnov to Chýnovská jeskyně leads through Nová Ves u Chýnova, Dobronice, and Chotčiny. The route to Chýnovská jeskyně is classified as easy and has an elevation difference of 279 m.
