History and culture

The first written mention of Jedlany dates back to 1369. In the center stands a recently reconstructed chapel with a bell tower.

The village of Beránek, associated with Jan Hus's sermons in the 15th century, lies near Jedlany. Near Beránek, a polished granite commemorative plaque in a simple stone monument commemorates the historic “Pilgrimage to the Mountains”; it was installed in 1970.

The Dolní Mlýn (Samcův Mlýn) mill also reflects the area's history: it already existed in 1657 and operated until 1962. At the end of that historical period, Jedlany had only one farm and three inhabited cottages; the remaining farmsteads stood empty.
