Protivin: Hotels and accommodations
The ProtivĂn Information Centre includes a zoological museum with osteological preparations and dermoplastics of reptiles, monkeys, rhinoceroses and giraffes. It also houses a permanent exhibition featuring collages, prologues and chiasmages by the artist Jiřà Kolář, who was born in ProtivĂn. In addition, the centre provides information about transport connections, accommodations, dining, and cultural and sporting events, and sells maps for cyclists.

Culture
The Church of St Elizabeth on ProtivĂn’s square was completed in 1662 in the early Baroque style. ProtivĂn’s traditional town celebrations take place every year on the last weekend in August.
History
The brewery in ProtivĂn was founded in 1598. The PamátnĂk mÄ›sta ProtivĂna presents modern historical exhibitions on the history of ProtivĂn and its surroundings, including the history of the brewery and the railway.
Nature
Between ProtivĂn and the PĂsek Mountains lies a group of 13 ponds, 10 of which are protected as the “Zelendárky” natural monument.
Orientation
The NS Blanice educational trail is 23 km long and is suitable for walks, full-day family trips and cycling tours. The walking time for family trips is 4–5 hours, while travelling by bicycle takes approximately 2.5 hours.
The NS Blanice trail can be started in ProtivĂn at the bus stop on the square in front of the museum or in front of the railway station. However, the official starting point is in the passageway of the ProtivĂn museum, where introductory information and a map of the educational trail are displayed.

KrokodĂ˝lĂ ZOO ProtivĂn offers the educational experience programme “Poznej dokonalĂ˝ vĂ˝tvor evoluce – Seznam se s krokodĂ˝lem”, which introduces visitors to crocodiles.
The PamátnĂk mÄ›sta ProtivĂna also includes the “Exotická pĹ™Ăroda” exhibition, featuring dioramas of rainforest, savannah, desert and the depths of the sea. Interactive elements in the exhibition also appeal to younger visitors.
Královstvà času displays more than 1,200 clocks, watches and alarm clocks. It has a watchmaking workshop for children, where visitors can make models of alarm clocks, watches or hand puppets, among other things. Královstvà času also includes an outdoor playground in an enclosed garden.
