Culture and history

The Museum of the Otava River and Rafting, with a gallery, is open on the ground floor of the south wing of the château in Střelské Hoštice. It can be visited from 3 June to 30 September according to the current opening hours.

At the southern edge of the village stands the single-nave, east-facing Church of St. Martin. It has a tower on the western façade and was built in the Neoclassical style in 1822 after the previous Gothic church burned down in 1819. Its valuable interior includes architectural elements such as vaults, the roof truss, a gallery and pillars.

Nature and trails

Kněží hora is located in the surroundings of Střelské Hoštice. The nature reserve includes the remains of a Slavic hillfort and is considered an archaeological monument.

The Kněží hora educational trail has five stops with information boards and is intended for pedestrians and cyclists. It is approximately 4 km long and runs in the direction of Katovice–Kněží hora (Střelské Hoštice).

Cycling Route 1066 connects Strakonice and Horažďovice.

Transport and sport

Střelské Hoštice railway station is located on Line 191 on the Plzeň–Strakonice–České Budějovice route and is integrated into the integrated transport system.

The multi-purpose sports ground with a synthetic surface in Střelské Hoštice offers tennis, volleyball, nohejbal and basketball.
