Světce: Hotels and Accommodation

Světce is home to Zdechův mlýn, also known as Půlpytlův, a water mill first mentioned in written records in 1255. If you are planning to stay in Světce, you may wish to book a hotel.

Culture and History

Zdechův mlýn is open as a museum of machinery and milling; visits are generally arranged in advance with the owner. Water for the mill was brought from the Deštenský potok stream via a mill race approximately 1.2 kilometres long.

The present-day chapel in Světce was built in the 19th century and continues an older local tradition. The name Světce developed from the names “U svatého” and “U světce”, which were associated with the image of a saint in a chapel.
