Lazinov: Hotels and Accommodation

History and Village Character

The Lazinov Cross was erected in 1860, restored in 2006, and placed in 2008 on the village square in the bay of the reservoir. The stone bell tower in Lazinov has no documented year of construction; historical sources estimate that it was built around 1832. The bell tower contains a wooden bell-frame structure. The bell in the bell tower was consecrated on 4 June 1922 and has been preserved to this day; the bell tower itself was renovated in 2005.

The construction of the reservoir on the Křetínka from 1972 to 1978 flooded the settlement of Stavení and the lower-lying part of Lazinov. At the viewpoint above the site of the former Masákův Mill, a bench and a Vodník figure commemorate the old mill and the flooded part of the municipality; from there, there is a view of the Křetínka Valley, now flooded.

Marked Routes

Marked route 5161 connects Lazinov with Křetín and then continues north towards Vlkov. It runs mostly along roads, paved forest tracks, and field paths through the valleys of the Křetínka and Svitava rivers.

Marked route 5166 runs from Lazinov to Letovice. As a marked cycling route, it leads from Lazinov via Meziříčko to Letovice. An excursion in South Moravia takes you to the picturesque village of Lazinov by following the western tip of the reservoir and then reaching Křetín.
