History and Culture

Coal mining at the roadside site near Trníček began in 1910 and continued until 1923. Coal was mined in the vicinity of Chrudichromy. The cast-iron Trníček Cross stands below Trníček Hill by the road toward Chrudichromy.

In the mid-19th century, safflower was cultivated. The locally grown safflower was transported to Leipzig, Berlin, and Hamburg. Even today, Chrudichromský gulášek refers to a local culinary tradition: it is a recurring goulash tasting event, the 10th edition of which was announced for September 19, 2026.

Culture

A traditional Cyril and Methodius pilgrimage celebration takes place at the chapel in Chrudichromy. A new Chrudichromský nativity scene was exhibited in the chapel. The figures of the Holy Family in the Chrudichromský nativity scene were carved from linden wood by Jiří Vraj.

The chapel with the nativity scene can be viewed through its glazed panels rather than remaining permanently open.
