Nemojany lies at the foot of the Drahanská vrchovina in the valley of the Rakovec stream.

Geographical Setting

The Brno–Přerov railway line runs along the edge of Nemojany. The nearby surroundings include Luleč Hill and Nad Skálou Hill (Luleč). Mount Urban is located in the vicinity of Nemojany, while Mount Stádla lies in the wider regional area.

Nature and Trails

Today, Nemojany is a starting point for walks and hikes in the Rakovecké údolí Nature Park. Cycle Route 5071, which is 32 kilometres long, also passes through the village. The viewpoint below the church on the hill is oriented mainly to the south. Chobot Pond is associated with sport fishing.

Culture and History

Nemojany is home to the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, dating from 1855. A wayside shrine stands near the former Imperial Road. The history of the village also includes the historic Chobot Mill, which was powered by water. The historic Chobot mill estate included a 3.24-hectare pond.

Boží muka is a significant example of small-scale sacred architecture in the landscape of Nemojany. The historicist structure was built around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries or at the beginning of the 19th century, and stands outside the built-up area on the road to Brno. After being exemplary restored in 2022, the wayside shrine received second place in 2023 in the competition of the Jihomoravský kraj for the best-restored cultural monument of 2022 in the Small Structures category.
