Borovnice: Hotels and Accommodations
Borovnice is located in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area and on a yellow-marked hiking trail.
Culture and Townscape
Masonry farmsteads have been preserved in Borovnice, documenting the region’s folk architecture. The Borovnice No. 36 farmstead ensemble is particularly noteworthy: since September 17, 2024, it has been protected as a cultural monument and is a very well-preserved and exceptionally valuable example from a heritage conservation perspective of a monumentally designed, two-storey masonry village house dating from the period after the mid-19th century. It is characterized by an enclosed courtyard surrounded on all four sides.
The stone cross at farmstead No. 36, dating from the second half of the 19th century, is part of the large rural estate. It documents the development of residential life as well as the life and livelihood of a more prosperous farmer in the Žďárské vrchy.
The Chapel of St. Joachim and Anna in Borovnice dates from 1900. The former Catholic Chapel of St. Anna in Borovnice, on the other hand, was deconsecrated and demolished in 1790. The region’s cultural heritage also includes an Evangelical church dating from 1886.
The Francis turbine at Feltlův mlýn dates from 1911 and is still in operation. The Francisův Lokál at Feltlův mlýn can be rented for special occasions.
Nature and Landscape
The Prosička Nature Monument is located in the cadastral area of Borovnice u Jimramova. It protects a geomorphologically distinctive gneiss rock complex in the form of a rock wall at the summit, together with surrounding block fields.
The Prosička viewpoint lies on the blue-marked hiking trail from Javorek to Jimramov. Near Borovnice, the Svratka forms a natural boundary between Bohemia and Moravia.
The Svratka Valley near Krásné is a site of European importance and part of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area.
