Blažkov: Hotels and Accommodation

The Evangelical Church of the Bohemian Brethren in Blažkov was ceremonially opened on 28 October 1926. A service is held every year in the Chapel of Cyril and Methodius on the feast day of Cyril and Methodius.

The protected wayside shrine in Blažkov stands on the site of a former burial ground, as evidenced by the discovery of numerous skeletons during road construction. A monument to those who fell in the First World War also stands on the village green in Blažkov.

The remains of the settlement known as “Řecky” are located in the meadow by the river below the slope called “na Babinci”. According to oral tradition, a castle once stood on the Na Babici headland above the Bobrůvka; archaeological investigations actually revealed the remains of a settlement built of wood and clay there.

The Blažkovské závody přes rybník is a recurring tradition in Blažkov that began in 1947. During this event, brave cyclists ride across a narrow wooden footbridge just above the surface of the pond.

The Blažkovské závody přes rybník also features traditional performances by local amateur actors, as well as exhibitions of historic automobiles and agricultural machinery.

Cycle Route 5130 connects Blažkov with Šiklův mlýn, while Cycle Route 5235 connects Zvole with Blažkov. The Zubří-stezky circular route via Blažkov is suitable for all types of bicycles; trekking and mountain bikes are particularly recommended.

Blažkov is listed as a possible bus destination and is located 2.5 km from Šiklův mlýn.
