Strážek: Hotels and accommodations

Beaver City recreates life in American settlement towns from 1800 to 1890. Fort Beaver is the area of Beaver City featuring the trappers’ trading post. With only a few exceptions, contemporary clothing is generally required at events in Beaver City.

In the town, you can see the statue of St. John of Nepomuk, a high-quality Baroque sculpture from the 18th century. The Church of St. Simon and St. Jude in Strážek is a Renaissance building from 1616 with Late Gothic elements. Since 1958, the church and the Baroque statue of St. John of Nepomuk have been protected as cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. At the same time, the church is a parish church with regular services.

Another attraction in Strážek is the devotional site of St. Florian, a Late Baroque sculptural work from the 18th century. The route “In the Footsteps of Capital Punishment Law in Strážek” passes the remains of a former execution site.

The 550-metre-high Strážnice mountain is used for tourist walks near Strážek. The excursion “Through the Bobrůvka Valley and the Mitrovský Estate” begins in Strážek and follows a blue-marked hiking trail to the Mitrov castle ruins. It is considered a half-day tour.

The Mitrov castle ruins in the vicinity of Strážek are freely accessible. The ruins of Mitrov Castle are also located nearby, on a wooded hill that the Bobrůvka River flows around on three sides. The hike “To Mitrov Castle” begins at a bus stop near Jednota and a restaurant in Strážek.
