Býšovec: Hotels and Accommodation

The seal of Adam of Býšovec from 1484 is considered the first evidence of the coat of arms of the Lords of Býšovec. Jan z Býšovce and his wife Kateřina are mentioned in 1398; that year, Vilém of Pernštejn granted them an allodial farmstead in Býšovec.

The history of Pernštejn Castle is also connected with the surrounding area: during the castle’s major redevelopment, begun shortly before 1460, marble from the Hradní lom quarry near Smrček was used above all.

In Smrček, the Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua is crowned by a tall octagonal onion dome with a lantern. The Chapel of Saint Lawrence in Býšovec has a small octagonal turret clad in galvanized sheet metal at the western end of the roof ridge.

The blue-marked, 5.2-kilometre-long Pernštejn–Smrček–Nedvědice educational trail takes visitors to Smrček, a district of the municipality of Býšovec. From the bus station in Smrček, the educational trail follows a forest path past an old Pernštejn marble quarry and the Roudné pits, crossing a hill on the way to Nedvědice.

The Hradní lom marble quarry lies below Hulákovy Hill along the route of the educational trail. The Pernštejn–Smrček educational trail leads to viewpoints offering unusual views of Pernštejn Castle and the surrounding peaks. From “Stráž,” a point in Pernštejn Castle’s guard system on a hilltop, there is a view of Pernštejn Castle.

In Smrček, a private riding stable offers the opportunity to go horseback riding. At the Smrček–Býšovec shooting range, hunters hold the traditional public shooting competition “O Pernštejnský pohár” every year.
