Rovná U Hořepníku: Hotels and Accommodation

Along the northern boundary of the cadastral territory of Rovná u Hořepníku, the Trnava Natura 2000 site borders Rovná. The European protected area of Trnava encompasses the cadastral territory of Rovná u Hořepníku and bears the Natura 2000 code CZ0613334. It protects flowing waters from lowland to montane areas, as well as the habitat of the Eurasian otter.

Nature

The landscape of Rovná consists of a mosaic of agricultural land, forested areas and scattered greenery. Small watercourses and ponds contribute to ecological stability and the appearance of the landscape.

Culture and History

The first written mention of Rovná dates from 1352. Rovná developed around the Church of St Martin, which originally served as the parish church. It is a state-protected immovable cultural monument with registration number 14550/3-3268 and is a single-nave, longitudinally oriented church building with a tower above the western façade. The church stands in the middle of a former cemetery enclosed by a retaining or perimeter wall. In Rovná, it is registered as an archaeological site in category ÚAN I, with confirmed or reasonably presumed archaeological finds dating from the Middle Ages to the modern era. The church is open and freely accessible while the bells are ringing.

The bell Svatý Martin dates from 1471 and is the oldest bell in the Pelhřimov District still serving its original purpose. House No. 4 is a cultural monument of local significance and retains the character of folk architecture.

Path through the Forest

The Cross of Saint John stands in the Bělá Forest along a red-marked hiking trail from Rovná to Červená Řečice.
