Hořice U Humpolce: Hotels and Accommodations
The Vojslavický road bridge is the only immovable cultural monument in the municipality of Hořice listed in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments. It consists of a lower arch bridge from 1939–1950 and an upper bridge built between 1972 and 1979.
Culture in the Village Green
On the northern side of Hořice’s village green stands a culturally valuable building featuring elements of folk architecture. A memorial stone known as a “smírčí kámen” is listed as an object of cultural and historical value and was relocated to the center of Hořice’s village green.
Landscape and Water
The area around Hořice is predominantly characterized by a landscape with varied hill and upland reliefs of the Hercynica type, as well as forestry and agricultural use. Along the southeastern to eastern edges, the relief gradually transitions into deeply incised valleys. The most important body of water for Hořice is part of the Švihov Reservoir on the Želivka River; the reservoir is used for drinking water treatment. Hořice is also included in the list of municipalities within the Želivka Natura 2000 Site of European Importance.
Cycle Path and Transport
Cycle route No. 0084 runs through the northern part of the Hořice settlement along road III/13027. The D1 motorway from Prague to Brno runs around Hořice.
