Piirumi – Natural and Coastal Landscape in Luitemaa

Piirumi is a village in the Luitemaa Nature Reserve in southwestern Estonia. Two birdwatching towers stand by the Pikla ponds. The nature reserve protects the coastal and natural landscape of southwestern Estonia. The surrounding area includes ponds, coastal meadows, the sea and protected nature.

The Luitemaa Nature Reserve lies in a particularly distinctive coastal and natural landscape in southwestern Estonia and also includes Piirumi. There are two birdwatching towers at the Pikla ponds: one stands between the ponds, while the other is lower and is located on the beach. From the towers, you can see across the coastal meadow and the sea. The Pikla coastal viewing platform is also located near the village of Piirumi in Häädemeeste Parish.

In Piirumi, Pikla Linnumaja is located directly by the sea in the Luitemaa Nature Reserve. Nurka Farm is located at kilometre 157 of the Tallinn–Riga highway, 30 km from Pärnu in the direction of Riga. The farm complex, which is over 100 years old, was converted into a modern holiday farm over a period of six years.
