Suurejõe

The village is in Põhja-Pärnumaa Parish, Estonia. The Suurejõe watermill building is an Estonian cultural monument dating from the 19th to 20th century. The Türi-Tori paddling route runs along the Pärnu River, and trails nearby offer various ways to explore the landscape.

In Suurejõe, the Türi-Tori paddling route has a checkpoint on the left bank of the river, just before the road bridge. Another landmark on the water is the rapid formed by the remains of the old mill weir, 50 metres downstream of the road bridge. Suurejõe Puhkemaja has a 17,000 m² private property on the banks of the Pärnu River, bounded by a fence on three sides and by the river on the fourth.

The Sakala hiking trail is 12.2 km long and can be used on foot or by bicycle. It starts at the Kurgja Farm Museum, about 20 km from Suurejõe. The Saarjõe hiking trail is a 9.7 km circular route that starts and ends at the Saeveski Forest House and follows the banks of the Saarjõgi. Their different lengths and routes can help you choose between them based on the distance and trail character you prefer.

The Hüpassaare nature trail is a circular route leading to the Kuresoo raised bog. There is a parking area, campfire site, campsite, shelter, and dry toilet at the starting point. The Mukri nature trail is also nearby, with an 18-metre-high observation tower; its viewing platform is 14 metres above the ground.

Suurejõe rahvamaja invites families to take part in activities such as singing, dancing, theatre, music, handicrafts, and design. It is in a building originally constructed as a fire station during the Päts era. The village library also has its own local history: after 1987, it was initially housed on the second floor of the former dairy building; since 2004, it has been located on Mustaru tee in an apartment building.
