On the outskirts of Földes, the Directorate of Hortobágyi National Park established the Bihari-sík Tanösvény nature trail as an educational trail. Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Földes can continue searching for accommodation afterwards.
Nature and Landscape
The Bihari-sík Tanösvény includes a wetland system consisting of several smaller lakes, a shallowly flooded area of reeds and cattails, and a contiguous floodplain. Two observation towers on the Bihari-sík Tanösvény offer views across the habitat and the opportunity to observe its rich birdlife with binoculars. The Bihari-sík Tanösvény can be reached on foot from Földes and leads to a nesting site of the strictly protected red-footed falcon.
Water and Thermal Baths
The outdoor bathing area of Földesi Termálfürdő will remain closed during the 2026 season due to renovation work. Földesi Termálfürdő has a 29-metre-long swimming pool with a taut water surface and two warm-water pools. At the point of emergence, the thermal water has a temperature of 67°C and is rich in salt, alkaline and chloride-bearing, as well as containing iodine and bromine.
Földesi Horgásztó offers opportunities for recreational fishing. It can be reached from Földes via road 4805 in the direction of Hajdúszovát.
Culture
Kállay Utcai Kovácsmúzeum displays a complete blacksmith's workshop with almost 500 tools. A wall on the outside of the museum commemorates, with a map, the work of Földes's master blacksmiths and the locations of their former workshops. Karácsony Sándor Állandó Emlékkiállítás is arranged thematically across nine display cases; its materials can be studied on site.
Pécsi Sándor Helytörténeti Gyűjteménye displays more than 4,000 objects. The Reformed church building in Földes has a history spanning several centuries. Reprints and duplicate copies are available to everyone interested, including researchers and students working on their theses.
Events
The Földesi Madársuli bird show is the main programme every year at the event organised by Bihar Közalapítvány on the first weekend of October in Földes. The Szélrózsa Néptáncegyüttes ensemble performs at events at municipal, county, national and international levels.
Local Tradition
Borzos kifli was served on holidays, when welcoming guests and on harvest occasions.
