History and Trails

The ruins of the Velétei Palace can be reached from the car park by the church via a marked footpath beside the church cemetery. The walk takes five minutes. This is a suitable starting point for visitors who would like to take a short cultural walk.

The Töttöskál Church Ruins are protected Romanesque ruins associated with the former village of Töttöskál; sections of walls and architectural details have been preserved. At the bend in the road leading south towards Szentbékkálla, a sign points to an access road leading eastwards to the ruins.

The ruins of the Velétei Palace are the remains of a stone residential tower that was built near the present-day Roman Catholic church in the Velétei Valley and is described as the former centre of the episcopal estates of the Kál Valley.
